Association of Surgical
Care Practitioners

About us

The Association of Surgical Care Practitioners’ (AoSCP) aims to provide support and advice to Surgical Care Practitioners across all surgical specialities regarding all aspects of professional and educational issues. The organisation will achieve this by operating at a national level, providing membership on national committees and working / advisory groups, liaising with the Royal Colleges of Surgeons and facilitating a single channel of communication representing SCPs whilst promoting and advancing the role.

Provide leadership through which organisations, professional bodies and/or others can consult and gain a consensus opinion regarding SCP practice and education.

Ensure representation and effective communication between the Surgical Care Practitioner workforce and other healthcare organisations though influencing, contributing to and reviewing strategies and policies that impact the role.

Develop and support a strategic vision to generate a consensus, acting as a single point of contact to discuss issues surrounding education, practice and Continuous Professional Development (CPD) of the SCP role.
